History of the Khulafaa’
Alhumdulilah that I’ve been able to attend so far the first weekend of the HOK seminar. It’s been extremely beneficial (and of course, fun hanging out with the sisters). We know so little about our own history that it’s amazing.
I’m really grateful to Sheikh Muhammad for giving us an assignment so through the week [...]Surviving the Islamic Conference
Well, it’s about that time of the year. No, I’m not talking about back to school. But with the start of a new school year, a new season of Islamic conferences kicks into full swing. If you’ve ever been to one of these conferences and left angry that you didn’t benefit from the lectures or [...]
My writings (part 2)
So now, I’ll be posting up my weekly articles exclusively on my blog before they’re available to the world on IN.
LOL. I thought that was a nice build-up.
InshaaAllah I just hope that someone benefits from the information in my articles and from some of my banter. May Allah forget any of my shortcomings. The ISM
I continue to be amazed by the people of the International Solidarity Movement, their founders like Adam Shapiro and his wife Huwaida Arraf, and all those that are on the ground with them and support them in their cause.

Sanctuary of Believers
‘The home is a sanctuary.’ This phrase is often coined by Westerners who take aspects of Eastern philosophy and try to replicate them into our homes. These people emphasize that the home should be a safe haven and we should design and decorate our home to create a peaceful environment. Even though many of us [...]
Islam Under Siege
Every week, this column is one small attempt to transmit some basic knowledge to Muslims. But this week, as I sat writing my weekly article, I found myself unable to write about any of the topics that I had on my “To-Do Listâ€. Instead, I decided to write about what is on all of our [...]
My writings
So I’ve been writing a weekly column called IN Islam for the past month or so for the Islamic Network. I’m going to copy my articles here for archiving purposes / those people who don’t visit the site.
Decision
So the decision was made that I won’t be going to Madinah this year. Which means, among other things, my husband won’t be here for the baby’s birth. :sigh:
There’s really nothing else to do though. With so many obstacles and so few resources, me going is just really not an option right now.
So I’m applying [...]
